Is it wrong to lie to your kids?

So, I might be slightly guilty of lying to our children.

Justin currently works at Oracle and they always have a big deal Halloween trick-or-treat event for the kids with over 50 candy stations, haunted houses, etc. Well, this made the lying so easy for me! I told the girls that Daddy works at a candy factory (Daddy didn't really think this was very funny which made it all the better for me!). They rarely visit him at work other than at Halloween, but when they do, his co-workers are happy to help support this false truth by offering our children any and all candy they can find lingering around the office and by making up stories about candy production (he did have great co-workers :)).

So now, he just got a new job at a company called Newdea (www.newdea.com) and while I'm happy for Justin, I'm sad that I can't keep telling the girls that he works at a candy factory. Abby and I decided that Newdea must be a Toy Store to make such a move worthwhile though so now all is ok again.



In all seriousness, congratulations on your new job, Justin (& daddy)! We are very happy that you have the opportunity to do something that you will truly enjoy!
